Payment
Payment will be required for all courses that take place within 16 weeks (16 weeks for most bespoke courses and outdoor skills courses).
Pay when you book
Choose 'pay now with PayPal' to pay for your course when you have completed the booking form. If you want to pay by cheque or bank transfer then choose to pay later you will receive an invoice with other payment options and instructions.
Places remaining on each course
Check the website page for the course you want to book for latest information, course dates and number of places remaining.
Payment page
Complete the payment form with invoice details etc. to pay for a course using PayPal with your debit or credit card. A PayPal account is not required to make a payment through Paypal.
Gift Vouchers
Buy a gift voucher for any course. The person who receives the voucher can use book a course for when it suits them - right up to 31st July 2017

Booking a course

Complete the website booking form!
Fully complete the booking form and the course cost will be calculated for you, submit the form and choose to pay now if the course starts within the next 12 weeks.

Paying for a course

You can pay straight away for the course after you have booked using the website booking form. Payment is made using PayPal and you do not need a PayPal account to securely process a debit or credit card.
If you choose to pay later you will be emailed an invoice with other payment options. Full payment is required if the course starts within the next 12 weeks to secure your course place weeks.

Courses take place across the New Forest and usually start from a forest car park. Most are easily reached by car from surrounding towns and villages or further afield; a lift can be arranged if you are arriving by public transport or want a lift from your accommodation.

Terms and conditions
These Booking Terms & Conditions apply to the booking of any Nigel Parrish trading as New Forest Navigation/New Forest Guided Walking (“New Forest Navigation/New Forest Guided Walking”) course/s (including guided walks or other activity/ies booked with Nigel Parrish) (“the course/s”) set out in New Forest Navigation/New Forest Guided Walking booking confirmation. These Booking Terms & Conditions contain important information concerning participation by you and members of your party (“participant/s”) and, accordingly, you acknowledge and agree that you shall ensure that all members of your party are aware of and accept these Booking Terms and Conditions. No variation to these Booking Terms & Conditions shall be binding unless agreed in writing by New Forest Navigation/New Forest Guided Walking. Any typographical clerical or other error or omission in any booking confirmation or other documentation issued by Nigel Parrish trading as New Forest Navigation/New Forest Guided Walking (including any electronic documentation) shall be subject to correction without any liability on the part of Nigel Parrish trading as New Forest Navigation/ New Forest Guided Walking. Booking and payment
Booking Confirmation:A course booking is considered confirmed on receipt of a booking deposit or full payment and a completed Booking Form by New Forest Navigation/New Forest Guided Walking. Without both the booking form and deposit or full payment there is no contract with New Forest Navigation/New Forest Guided Walking. If you book less than 112 days/16 weeks (140 days/20 weeks for bespoke and outdoor skills course/s) prior to the start of the course full payment must be made to enter in to the contract. Only by prior, confirmed (email or written) arrangement can a booking be taken without payment (such as booking being made through a third party, who shall be considered a ‘Booking Agent’). A booking form will still have to have been completed and all/any ‘Booking Terms and Conditions’ agreed to. The booking will only be considered confirmed once participants have received written (email or letter) acknowledgment from New Forest Navigation/New Forest Guided Walking.
Payment of balance: The full amount is due not later than 112 days (16 weeks) or 140 days (20 weeks) prior to date of the course start date. Should the full amount not be received in the specified time, Nigel Parrish trading as New Forest Navigation/New Forest Guided Walking reserves the right to treat the booking as cancelled and the deposit shall become non-refundable. Payment can be made online on the website at the time of the booking using PayPal or using the payment instructions on the invoice. When a booking is made, all participants will have deemed to have agreed to the/these ‘Booking Terms and Conditions’. It is up to the Group Leader/Organiser/Person making booking to ensure these conditions are met and participants are made aware of them.
Cancellation (by us) and return of course fees and deposits (Covid-19)
Map reading courses and Corvid-19
Most New Forest Navigation map reading course will take place as booked/planned. To help prevent participants catching or spreading the virus everyone will practice social distancing and only attend if they are fit, well and do not have daily contact with those who are in the vulnerable category. The course content and style of teaching will be altered slightly and the number of participants on each course may be limited to a lower number of participants.
New Forest Navigation will not be able to give any participants a lift to and from the course start locations but may be able to start bespoke course close to Brockenhurst Station.
Please consider postponing the course if you are unwell or have had recent contact with someone who is unless - No one booked on a course will miss out - You can postpone any course until 1st April 2021. Courses take place right through the year and your continued and new business is hugely appreciated during this difficult time.
Corvid19 - Cancellation or postponement of courses: The booking/payment of any course will acknowledge that you may have to postpone at short notice and that New Forest Navigation may have to cancel and postpone courses at short notice. Every person who postpones or has a course cancelled will be offered several date options for an alternative course right through to April 2021. Full refunds will only be offered in exceptional circumstances (subject to booking terms and conditions)
New Forest Navigation will not be held responsible in any way for those that attend the course during the Corvid-19 pandemic/period. If in doubt ask to postpone the course.
Cancellation (by us) and return of course fees and deposits: Course payment or deposit will be returned in full without obligation and the booking considered cancelled if deemed necessary for reasons of adverse weather conditions, unsuitable conditions or other conditions outside of the control of New Forest Navigation/New Forest Guided Walking if that cancellation happens within 72 hours of the course start time. Where possible participants will first be offered a postponement option. A telephone number that course participants/organisers can be contacted on up 72 hours prior to the course start time and on the day of the course must be supplied when making a booking. This number will be used to notify participants of any cancellation, change of start location or other changes to the course and as such New Forest Navigation/New Forest Guided Walking can not be held responsible should we fail to contact you to notify you of these changes.
Requests for cancellations
Covid-19 - Cancellation or postponement of courses: The booking/payment of any course will acknowledge that you may have to postpone at short notice and that New Forest Navigation may have to cancel and postpone courses at short notice. Every person who postpones or has a course cancelled will be offered several date options for an alternative course right through to April 2021. Full refunds will only be offered in exceptional circumstances (subject to booking terms and conditions)
New Forest Navigation will not be held responsible in any way for those that attend the course during the Corvid-19 pandemic/period. If in doubt ask to postpone the course.
Requests for cancellation: Your date of cancellation is on the date we acknowledge the cancellation. Any requests for cancellation must be made by one of these methods: By phone, by email or in writing. The course is only considered cancelled when you have received written or acknowledged email confirmation from New Forest Navigation/New Forest Guided Walking. Cancellation fees will apply, based on a percentage of the full course/activity price as detailed; 365 to 112 days prior to course start date retention of deposit or 25%. 111 days to 84 days prior to course start date retention of 50%. 83 to 55 days to course start date retention of 75%. 54 to 0 days to course start date retention of 100%. Where possible an alternative course date (postponement) will be offered in lieu of cancelled course. No refunds on the day for anyone who does not turn up or turns up late. Balance due on the day will remain for the numbers booked. Whilst we will always do our best to ensure that activities go ahead as advertised, we reserve the right to make any changes or cancel courses due to circumstances beyond our control. If we have a course that does not meet the minimum required participation numbers we have the right to book you on another mutually agreeable course or offer a full refund. This will not usually happen within 28 days of the course start date. We cannot accept any responsibility for cancellations (at any times) through situations of Force Majeure; war, terrorist attacks, natural disasters, adverse weather conditions, unsuitable conditions or any such conditions outside our control.
Course postponement - Corvid 19 updated
Corvid19 - Cancellation or postponement of courses: The booking/payment of any course will acknowledge that you may have to postpone at short notice and that New Forest Navigation may have to cancel and postpone courses at short notice. Every person who postpones or has a course cancelled will be offered several date options for an alternative course right through to April 2021. Full refunds will only be offered in exceptional circumstances (subject to booking terms and conditions)

Course cancellation or curtailment - whilst underway
Course cancellation or curtailment due to external or other factors whilst under way: Course may have to be cancelled, curtailed or modified due to external factors such as hazardous/extreme weather, safety considerations (if the course is already underway) or other factors beyond the control of New Forest Navigation/New Forest Guided Walking. This may take place whilst the course is under or at short notice before the course commences. Each activity is assessed for risk and control measures include curtailing a course, shortening the course duration, changing the original route and objectives or course cancellation at short notice.
Cancelled by us: If the course is due to commence within the next 72 hours and cancelled by New Forest Navigation/New Forest Guided walking then a full refund or a suitable alternative will be offered by New Forest Navigation/New Forest Guided walking. Course cost/s only will be refunded (participants should have adequate insurance to cover other costs). *The time of cancellation will be the time the leader has informed the participant/s and received an acknowledgement or the actual time participants return to the start location/agreed end location.*
One and two day courses: If a course is cancelled after it has started then the refund amount will be a percentage of the full course costs paid dependant on the course duration. Courses cancelled on day one of a day one course: 50% will be retained by New Forest Navigation/New Forest Guided Walking and 50% will be refunded to the participant/s. For two day courses cancelled on the second day (day two) 50% will be retained by New Forest Navigation/New Forest Guided Walking and 50% will be refunded to the participant/s.
Outdoor skills course/ s: If a course is cancelled after it has started then the refund amount will be a percentage of the full course costs paid dependant on the course duration and how much time has elapsed since the course commenced and the time the course has ended. Day 1 commencement time to 09:59 on day 2 - 35% will be retained by New Forest Navigation/New Forest Guided Walking and 65% will be refunded to the participant/s. 10:00 day two to 17:59 day 2 - 60% will be retained by New Forest Navigation/New Forest Guided Walking and 40% will be refunded to the participant/s. 18:00 day 2 to 07:59 on day 3 80% will be retained by New Forest Navigation/New Forest Guided Walking and 20% will be refunded to the participant/s. After 08:00 on day 3 the course will have been considered as completed and no refund will be made to participants. *For outdoor skills courses the end time of the course will be the time participants have physically returned to the original starting location or agreed end location.*
If a participant on an outdoor skills course cannot start an activity, or continue the activity due to being poorly or inadequately equip for the activity then New Forest Navigation/New Forest Guided Walking reserves the right to make no refund to the participant.
Acknowledgment of risk
Your booking is based on your acceptance of the risk inherent in outdoor activities. Whilst we ensure that all activities are as safe as possible, all clients must take sensible precautions to minimise any risk to himself or herself. Participants accept that there are inherent risks that could result in injury or death and accept risks involved and shall be responsible for your own activities/actions and/or involvement.
These booking conditions must be passed to all members of the party by the group leader to ensure their full understanding of the risks and responsibilities involved. We reserve the right to change any activity whilst it is underway if, in the guide/instructors judgement this is in the best interest of the group. We also reserve the right to alter an itinerary for any reason that we deem important and will endeavour to inform the course participants as soon as possible.
Under 18 years olds: Children and young People under 18 are permitted to take part in courses and must be accompanied by a parent or appointed responsible adult for the entire duration of the activity/course. Parents or suitably responsible adults must ensure that the children comply with all instructions given and are suitably equipped. Explicit signed permission to take part must be given by a parent or appointed responsible adult whom should be aware of and except any risks involved (section 2) and satisfy himself or herself accordingly. It is the responsibility of the person making the booking to ensure that the appropriate parent or appointed responsible adult has given written consent. New Forest Navigation/New Forest Guided Walking has the right to refuse participation of any person under 18 should they deem it necessary without giving reason or prior notice (section 4).
Corvid 19 special instruction - risks and risk management
Please note:
DO NOT attend a course if in the last 7 days you MAY have had contact with members of the public in a public/social setting where social distancing was NOT possible such as using public transport, commuting, retail working, shared office facilities etc.
DO NOT attend a course if you will need to have contact with someone who is in the vulnerable group (see government guidance) in the next 7-14 days.
DO NOT attend a course if you you have a new cough, sniffle, cold, temperature etc - See government guidance on virus symptoms.
DO NOT attend a course if you are within the vulnerable category - see government guidance
DO NOT attend a course if you have any concerns about attending the course!
During the course:-
Each participant will be given individual signing on sheets/pen, map and compass and any course materials for use during the course - after the course these materials will be returned and sterilised!
Maps will be pre marked with location numbers so each participant can see where we are going etc without needing close contact with each other and the instructor.
Course participants will stand a minimum of 2 metres distance form each other for the duration of the course to comply with social distancing guidance.
Some of the course content and the way it is taught may be altered so the instructor can maintain social distancing.
If participants need to cough, sneeze or sniffle they should move away from the main group to do so and bag any tissues and take them home for safe disposal.
It is suggested participants wear thin gloves that can be removed after the courses and washed at home.
Have something in the car to wash or sterilise hands etc before driving home. Please do not wash hands with soap and water in a forestry car park unless you bring a container to tip the waste water into!
Suitability for the activity
It is your responsibility to ensure that you are suitably equipped, adequately fit and experienced to undertake the activity that you are booking. You must inform us in advance of any medical conditions, allergies and/or special requirements, dietary or otherwise that could affect your participation in any activity. A full suggested clothing and equipment list will be supplied and those undertaking courses should ensure they are adequately equip including wearing suitable footwear for the course they are undertaking. Nigel Parrish trading as New Forest Navigation/New Forest Guided Walking reserves the right curtail, postpone or cancel a participants activity/ies if they are not suitable equip. We do accept dogs on some (contact prior to booking to check) courses but it is the owner’s responsibility for its welfare and the safe and responsible control on farmland and near livestock and that the does not in any way interfere with the enjoyment and learning of other participants.
Statement of Physical Ability: Each participant should/will ensure/declare that they have an adequate level of fitness in order to take part fully in the activity that you wish to book (If in any doubt, consult a doctor or a medical professional before booking/taking part).
Conduct on a course

Participants are expected to follow all safety instructions and not to act in any way that compromises the safety, enjoyment, learning or well-being of himself or herself and other participants. Conduct that is considered to be disruptive, contrary to good order or prejudicial to the interest of safety shall entitle Nigel Parrish trading as New Forest Navigation/New Forest Guided Walking to remove a person from participation of any course, without any liability on New Forest Navigation/New Forest Guided Walking to make a refund.

Special request and medical requirements
If you or any member of your party has any medical problem or disability which may affect your booking, it is a condition of booking that you contact us before you make your booking, and provide us with full details. If New Forest Navigation/New Forest Guided Walking is unable to properly accommodate the needs of the person(s) concerned, we will not be able to confirm your booking.
If you did not give full details at the time of booking, we can cancel your booking and impose applicable cancellation charges as soon as we become aware of these details. It is also your responsibility to make New Forest Navigation/New Forest Guided Walking fully aware of your medical requirements or special dietary requirements upon arrival as an additional safeguard.
Insurance, complaints and privacy policy
You are strongly recommended to take out personal travel insurance for all members of your party. It is your responsibility to ensure that the insurance you purchase is adequate and appropriate for your particular needs.
In the unlikely event of any problems or complaint these should be brought to our attention as soon as possible.
We respect your privacy and all personal information is stored in accordance with our privacy policy. No personal information will be passed on for any reason except to those organising your activity.
NNAS privacy and information required from participants
Those undertaking an NNAS course will have to provide some additional personal information including their Date of Birth and/or email. This information is required so that participants can be entered onto the NNAS CMS system.

Subsequent instruction by participant(s)

All New Forest Navigation/New Forest Guided Walking courses are taught by a qualified & capable Leader, however, it is not intended that any instruction that is given to any participant(s) while on a course will in any way qualify that or those participant(s) to instruct any third party and no warranty is made to that effect.

Voucher terms and conditions

Vouchers must be bought and paid for before they can be redeemed. A PDF voucher will be emailed (posted on request) to the person purchasing the voucher to gift to someone else. The voucher can only be used to book a New Forest Navigation map reading course or outdoor skills course and no refunds will be given after the voucher has been paid for.
The voucher amount (value) must be equal to or greater than the price of the course being booked when the recipient books a course. The voucher recipient will complete a course booking form using the 'course not listed' option and enter a value of zero and agree to the normal booking terms and conditions. Vouchers must be redeemed (used) by the the date stated on voucher and any courses booked by the recipient must take place on/before the date stated on the voucher.

Confirmation of booking terms and conditions
All participants will sign a suitability to participate form at the start of the course acknowledging risk and acceptance of these terms and conditions.

New Forest Navigation map reading courses start from car parks and villages within the New Forest National Park. The New Forest is located in south Hampshire, South East England. It is easily accessible from the surrounding counties of Dorset, Wiltshire, Surrey, Sussex and London. No need to travel to Snowdnia or Peak District with the New Forest on your door step!
Course start locations are reached easily from all New Forest villages and towns, which all have a huge range of accommodation options; Brockenhurst, Lyndhurst, Lymington, Christchurch, Fordingbridge, Ringwood, Burley, Sway and further afield at Bournemouth, Southampton and Salisbury.
